Thomas Barr, PhD, of Cape Coral, Florida, has over 30 years of experience as a psychologist and consultant working with individuals, groups, business, and government organizations to maximize human potential, communication, teamwork, and satisfaction. He has expertise in pain management and behavioral medicine and has taught in hospitals. His techniques have been used in burn treatment, oncology, child psychology, and hand surgery units. His experience includes using clinical hypnosis, specializing in anxiety and depression, chemical dependency, pain management, eating disorders, and adjustment disorders/life transition. He is an ASCH Approved Consultant, an ASCH Fellow, and a past president of FSCH.

This workshop will cover advanced hypnotic techniques for clinical issues such as emotional intelligence, pain management, weight loss, and habit disorders. This workshop is designed to provide you with the practice necessary to successfully incorporate hypnosis into your unique style of clinical practice.

9:15-10:15 AM - Advanced Workshop Introduction and Overview [1.0 CE/CME]
The integration of all of your knowledge of hypnosis into a therapeutic approach in clinical practice.
At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:
- Describe how to test for hypnotic talents
- Describe when hypno-projectives are most appropriate
- Describe how to use debriefing to alter future hypnosis sessions
10:15-10:30 AM - Break
10:30-12:00 PM - Advanced skill building in the use of ideomotor and ideosensory techniques [1.5 CE/CME]
At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:
- Demonstrate use of ideomotor signals
- Demonstrate use of ideosensory signals
- Demonstrate ideomotor exploration of seven possible levels of etiology for clinical problems
- Differentiate ideomotor signals from Pacing techniques

12:45 - 1:30 PM - Use of resource retrieval for ego strengthening [0.75 CE/CME]
At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:
- Describe how hypnosis can be used to identify past resources and bring them into present situations using hypnosis.
- Amplify and appropriately elaborate desired individualized mental/emotional states.
- Demonstrate bringing past positive emotional states into the present.
1:30-2:30 PM - Using state-dependent memory for targeted etiological regression and reframing. [1.0 CE/CME]
At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:
- Describe how to use state-dependent memory to identify and reframe original imprints of emotional dysregulation.
- Describe the Affect Bridge technique and how to use it in clinical practice.
- Describe the process for using “Unconscious Negotiation or Reframing.”

2:45-4:00 PM - Introduction of REBIIRTHSU model for integrating hypnosis into clinical practice [1.0 CE/CME]
At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:
- Describe how to use REBIRTHSU to create a multilevel assessment and treatment model to integrate hypnosis into clinical practice.
- Prepare a role-play clinical patient scenario to allow their partner to practice using the REBIRTHSU assessment and treatment model.

Demonstrate use of the REBIRTHSU model for assessment and intervention planning.
Describe their assessments and choice of hypnotic interventions.
12:00-12:45 PM - LUNCH
12:45-2:30 PM - Using hypnosis and meditation to improve focus, attention and emotional intelligence [1.25 CE/CME]
At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:
- Define emotional intelligence.
- Describe the four areas of personal & social competencies that make up emotional intelligence.

2:45-4:00 PM - Using hypnosis and meditation to improve focus, attention and emotional intelligence (continued) [1.75CE/CME]
At the conclusion of this session, the participant will be able to:
- Describe what emotions are associated with the Right Prefrontal Converging Circuitry FMRI.
- Describe what emotions are associated with Left Prefrontal Converging Circuitry FMRI.
- Describe how to use hypnosis to affect Left to Right Prefrontal Ratios

Eligibility
Health professionals holding doctoral degrees in medicine, dentistry, podiatry and psychology, or doctoral or masters degrees in social work, marriage and family therapy, mental health counseling, or nursing, licensed in the state in which they practice; degree graduates receiving documented clinical supervision toward licensing, and graduate students in eligible disciplines with documentation of their student status from the Chairperson of their graduate program. All registrants must have completed an ASCH-approved Level 1 workshop.
Continuing Education Credit
We offer 12 Florida CEU's for licensed psychologists under 490 (Provider #50-774, Exp. 5/26); clinical social workers, mental health counselors, and marriage and family therapists under 491 (Provider #50-774, Exp. 3/27), and all our workshops count toward ASCH certification requirements. All ASCH-approved workshops are eligible for APA and CME credits. We automatically report to CEBroker.
